We finally had Moya baptized! I felt so guilty that we waited two years but when I saw there was a five year old too, I did not feel so bad! She was beautiful in her "princess dress"! Poor thing had been sick all weekend and fell asleep during the service but was abruptly woken up when the Deacon poured the water on her head. We celebrated with our family at Gatto's in New Lenox. If you are ever looking to do a party, that is the place! They will work within your budget and come up with the perfect menu for your special day.
Something that I have started to do this past year is cake decorating. I started with my daughter Emerson's 7th birthday party. She had a horse party so I made a horse cake!
For Moya's Birthday/Baptism I made a butterfly cake! I am really enjoying this and hope to move to homemade cakes next. I'm thinking about a German chocolate cake for my Dad's birthday next month. Yummy!! (And no, the cakes are not Paleo...yet!)
yay! congrats, Moya! I was wondering if there was a reason you waited, but I wouldn't feel guilty about it!
ReplyDeleteI love your cakes! did you take a class? I can't remember. they look awesome!
No real reason we waited except her first year was super crazy and then last year was too! We could never really nail down a good weekend to have it done!
ReplyDeleteI didn't take a class, just followed the directions online. I would like to take the Wilton class at Michaels. I tinted all the colors myself and used the pastry bags. I'm slowly increasing my supplies with each cake I make!
