St. Patty's Day and Headbands

Hello! It's been awhile for me! I've been busy getting creative! I spend the past couple of days making these headbands for my girls! I even made the bows. I have had so much fun that I went back to Michael's and bought more ribbon and some flowers to create more cute headbands. I'm obsessed! There is something really therapeutic about wrapping ribbon around a headband and getting a bow just right. I wanted something for my girls to wear for St. Patrick's Day considering it's a week-long celebration for the Boyle family! I feel so bad because Liam asked what I was going to make for him. I can't really make him a headband so I bought him a new green polo that he said he wasn't going to wear. I'm sure he will wear his Irish Football jersey that Mike brought back for him a few years ago! I hope you all have a great St. Patrick's week!

She's Finally Baptized!!

We finally had Moya baptized! I felt so guilty that we waited two years but when I saw there was a five year old too, I did not feel so bad! She was beautiful in her "princess dress"! Poor thing had been sick all weekend and fell asleep during the service but was abruptly woken up when the Deacon poured the water on her head. We celebrated with our family at Gatto's in New Lenox. If you are ever looking to do a party, that is the place! They will work within your budget and come up with the perfect menu for your special day.

Something that I have started to do this past year is cake decorating. I started with my daughter Emerson's 7th birthday party. She had a horse party so I made a horse cake!
For Moya's Birthday/Baptism I made a butterfly cake! I am really enjoying this and hope to move to homemade cakes next. I'm thinking about a German chocolate cake for my Dad's birthday next month. Yummy!! (And no, the cakes are not Paleo...yet!)

A Few Blogs to Check Out!

Check out the few blogs I have on the right hand side. Everyday Paleo is where I have been getting a lot of my recipes lately! Sarah talks about how "paleo is possible"! Even with a family! Her recipes are simple and yummy!
Jessica's Blog is my friend who loves a lot of the same things I do. Her photography is amazing, as is her husbands. Check out Peter's Blog, Jessica's husband, too! They have a company called Matushek Photography so stop by their site and check out what they are up to!
The other site is my friend Beth. She also loves a lot of the same things I do! She has an awesome Etsy shop where she makes super cute clutches, pouches, wallets and bags! I have a few of her items and use them all the time!!
I will post more links to sites I like later!

Welcome!!

Welcome to my blog! I hope to share with you all of my interests, loves, and maybe an opinion or two! :) A bit about me: I am married with three beautiful kids! I stay at home and practice real estate part time. It's hard in a slow market but I'm doing pretty well! I have recently found my creative side again and have discovered a love of photography. I knew it was always there but until I got my Nikon D3100, took an intro class, and realized what I could do, my interest and almost obsession is growing!
I have a degree in English from Saint Xavier University in Chicago. You will see me post about books I love or are reading. I also love to cook and bake. Currently my husband, Mike, and I are trying out some Paleo diet recipes and the way to eat. We are not strict by any means, but realistic. I wish I could tell you that I am an exercise fanatic, but I am not. I got into running last fall and love it! Although, after surgery on my foot in December of 2009, I have to be careful with how much I do. My goal for 2011 is to sign up for some 5K races and go from there. I also love Yoga!
I feel like I could write a book here but I will save it for future posts! I want to share with you what makes me Taylor B and I hope you keep reading!
